TEHRAN, Dec. 27 (MNA) -- China-Iran Friendship Association (CIFA) was established last week during a ceremony at the venue of Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).

Iran’s cultural attaché to China Mohammad-Javad Aqajari, Iran’s ambassador to Chian Javad Mansouri, head of Iran-China Friendship Association Ahad Mohammadi, as well as several Iranian and Chinese scholars and officials attended the ceremony.

At the beginning of the event, the Chairman of CPAFFC Chen Haosu, Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Jilin Provincial Government Wang Meng, former Chinese Ambassador to Tehran Liu Zhentang and vice president of CPAFFC Feng Zuoku were appointed as the members of the CIFA board of directors.

China and Iran are two important Asian countries that have a rich culture and were connected to each other by the Silk Road from ancient times, Chen Haosu mentioned during the ceremony.

“The Iran-China Friendship Society (ICFS) was established ten years ago to boost cultural ties between the two countries and it is my hope that its establishment will improve the relationship between our two countries,” Mansuri mentioned during the event.
